Bryan Allsop Memorial Match

In 2005 Bryan Allsop, one of the founder members of Sannox Cricket Club, died on the field of play.

His family suggested having an annual cricket match around the time time of the anniversary of Bryan's death. The club agred this and consequently the match that falls nearest to the 26th June in Sannox's fixture list is designated the Bryan Allsop memorial match.

Audrey, Bryan's widow and David and Gordon his sons, have had Bryan's bat mounted with shields and set on a stand as a trophy for this annual event. A special day is made of the match with the family holding a raffle and giving an extra-special cricket lunch. It is more widely publicised than other fixtures.
To date, all three matches have been won by Sannox.

Audrey bakes cakes and helps with the lunches and raffles on match days still as she did when Bryan was still alive. She, David and Gordon always take a keen  interest in the club.
